Beliefs

At The Courageous Church, we’re Spirit-led without being weird and mission-minded without diluting the message of Jesus. We’re not scared of culture or seduced by it. Our approach to church isn’t traditional, but our commitment to Jesus shapes everything we believe, say, and do.

Courageous Code

We believe in Jesus.

The Gospel of Jesus Christ is our everything. The goodness of what God has done in Christ is the motivation
for all we do.

We expect the unexpected.

Faith requires risk, so we will risk more and anticipate change in order to see God’s powerful results.

We feel our faith.

We are a church filled with heartfelt prayer and passionate worship.

We don’t have perfect people.

We are not religious or legalistic. Our goal isn’t perfection, it’s progress. Authenticity with God and each other is the best way for a spiritual family to be healthy and whole.

We’ve got your back.

The strength of all of us is greater than the strength of any one of us. Team work makes the dream work.

We serve hard.

We are action-oriented and addicted to constant improvement. We want to make a difference, and we’re ready to sweat to see it happen.

We love big.

We reach the many by never losing sight of the one. We go the second mile so our church will look like heaven –
diverse in every way, yet united
as the body of Christ.

We aren’t afraid
to fight.

We will defend the culture and unity of our church, the vision of our leadership, and the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

We put God
to the test.

Generosity is a trust issue, we choose to believe God by giving sacrificially.

Frequently Asked Questions

At The Courageous Church, you’ll find a friendly atmosphere and exciting Worship Experience. Children are well-cared for in a loving, safe nursery and fun-filled Courageous Kid’s services.
Sustainability is important to us. We believe everyone should experience built-in times of rest and time with family. It has been said that preaching a 35-minute message is equivalent to running hard on a treadmill for 35 minutes, then stopping for 30 minutes, and doing it again, and again..and again. It can be physically, emotionally, and spiritually taxing. Through the use of video, we can add additional gatherings, create more space for people to gather on the weekend, and fulfill our mission without burning out our leaders. Whichever location you join us on Sunday morning, the medium may be different, but the message will be the same.
We will not embarrass you, have you stand up, or ask you to give money. We know that people want to check out the church and “be anonymous” for awhile – and that’s fine with us! Come in and enjoy a complimentary cup of coffee in a relaxed atmosphere.
Your children are a top priority. Our nurseries are clean, safe, and staffed with loving workers. We offer a dynamic Childrens Ministry called Courageous Kids as well as life-changing ministry to students from junior high through college.
There are many ways to get involved. You can begin by attending Growth Track and find out more about joining the Dream Team. Groups are another great way to connect. There you can build friendships, learn more about the life of our church, and have the opportunity to grow in your faith. Check out our Groups and Growth Track web pages to find out more!
As TCC grows, Groups allow us to “stay small” and connected with each other. We believe real life change happens best in the context of authentic relationships. Groups are also where we pray, care for one another, and are missed if we don’t show up. Regardless of your age, interest, or location, there is a group that’s right for you and one of the easiest things to do is to join a group. Groups meet weekly in locations all around our city. Check out the online directory on the Groups web page.
We’re pretty casual. Come in what is comfortable for you because it’s not about what you look like or what you wear.
