We will leave a legacy of faith for the Next Generation to own, invest, and possess. Courageous East will serve our community as a place where people will connect to Christ, grow in community, and live out courageous lives.

1. Pray PASSIONATELy

Commit to pray that the provision of this expansion will be accelerated, that the legacy of Christianity in the Ozarks through Courageous would be dynamic, and that our tenacity and faith remain ambitious and personifies the heart of Jesus' rescue mission for the lost.

2. Tithe CONSISTENTLY

Commit to honor God through the Biblical principle of the tithe by giving the first 10% of your income to the local church. This allows Courageous to continue to serve the now while preparing for the next.

3. Give Generously

Commit to invest and financially partner with the mission of Courageous by giving above your tithe as a way to Honor God's provision over your life.

A STORY OF COURAGE

OUR PROGRESS

October 2012

Courageous revives and relaunches Truth Community Church as The Courageous Church. The name is inspired by Joshua 1:9, “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” In four years, from 2012 to 2016, the church that started with 137 people begins to consistently hit building capacity lids, maxing out at 3 services.

January 2017

The building formerly home to River of Life Lutheran Church sits vacant awaiting new life. Faithful members of the church, Wayne and Kay Morris prayerfully maintain the property, believing in God for new life and vision for the church. Miraculously God opens doors for Courageous to purchase and revive the property, and Courageous South is launched.

June 2021

Church leaders and board members of Eastern Gate Free Will Baptist Church unanimously vote to gift The Courageous Church an estimated value of $2.4M in assets on 5.25 acres of land to revive, relaunch, and rebuild a faith community that will be known as Courageous East at 922 S Eastgate Ave.

March 2022

Courageous renovates the existing Eastern Gate building into The Courageous Church central office and headquarters. This construction projects opens up additional classroom spaces at Courageous North to expand both children and youth ministry.

September 2023

Courageous receives permits to begin groundwork and progress towards building construction and the establishment of Courageous East.

March 2024

Courageous partners with the Eastern Gate Freewill Baptist Church legacy, and breaks ground on the property that will serve as the location for Coruageous East.
