How God’s Presence Changes Everything
Every year the Christmas season hits fast, loud, and full of pressure. You feel the intensity of getting everything ready, keeping the traditions alive, and trying to make it all meaningful. But if you are not careful, you can end up focusing on the wrong things and missing the moments that actually matter. That is why God’s presence becomes more than a spiritual idea during the holidays. It becomes the anchor that keeps you from drifting into frustration, loneliness, or stress.
Everybody loves gifts, but there is something even better than presents. Real presence. The kind that does not leave you when life feels overwhelming. Jesus gives a promise in Matthew 28:20 that can carry you through every lonely day and every difficult moment. He said, “I am with you always.”
Christmas is a reminder that God stepped into the world to not just be with us, but with you. Isaiah 9 describes Jesus as the Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace. His presence brings order, and where there is order there is peace. Peace rarely disappears because the world gets louder. It usually disappears when you stop staying close to the One who brings it.
Jesus never promised a life without struggle. He promised a life without absence. John 16:33 tells us clearly that trouble is a part of life, but so is His victory. You do not have to walk through anything alone. His presence is what makes the difference.
Even the Apostle Paul lived in this tension. He said in 1 Corinthians 16:9 that God had opened a wide door for effective work and there were many adversaries. Both were true at the same time. Paul chose to focus on the open door rather than the opposition. You can choose the same posture this Christmas. Highlight His presence rather than your problem. What you have, rather than what you lack.
Jesus is the purpose that is bigger than your problems.
When you make His presence a priority, peace follows. Matthew 1:23 calls Him Immanuel which means God with us. Not just God above you or around you. God with you.
