Should I Consider Jesus?

When life gets loud, complicated, and disappointing, there is one question that can recenter your faith and priorities: “Should I consider Jesus?” Hebrews 3 gives an answer that is bigger than religion, bigger than self improvement, and bigger than surviving another week.

Hebrews 3:1 says, “Therefore, holy brothers, you who share in a heavenly calling, consider Jesus.” Consider means to fix your attention, to look closely, and to let Him fill the center of your view. When your faith feels shaken, when life feels heavy, or when the old life starts calling your name, the Holy Spirit gives one clear direction. Consider Jesus.

The original audience in Hebrews felt pressure from every side. Some were true believers who had suffered for their faith. Others were curious but not committed. Some heard the message but stayed unmoved. All of them lived with one question in the background. Is Jesus worth following? The writer answers that question by going straight to Moses.

For a Jewish person, Moses was the greatest human who ever lived. He spoke to God face to face. He delivered Israel. He received the law. He wrote Genesis through Deuteronomy. Moses built the entire framework of Jewish faith and identity. Yet Hebrews 3 says Jesus is worthy of more glory than Moses. Not because Moses was bad, but because Moses was the servant and Jesus is the Son.

Moses was faithful in God’s house, but Jesus built the house. Moses carried the shadow, but Jesus is the substance. Moses delivered a nation, but Jesus delivers the human heart. Moses pointed forward, but Jesus finishes what God started. This is why Hebrews 3:6 says, “We are his house, if indeed we hold fast our confidence and our boasting in our hope.”

So why should you consider Jesus?

Because He is the only one who can hold your life together.

When you feel pressure, consider Jesus

When you feel unworthy, consider Jesus.

When religion feels safer than relationship, consider Jesus.

When you feel pulled back into the life you left behind, consider Jesus.

Jesus is better. Jesus is stronger. Jesus is faithful. Jesus is enough. He is the builder who does not abandon what He builds. He is the Son who finishes what the Father started. He is worthy of your gaze, your confidence, and your hope.

If you are searching for direction, stability, strength, or purpose, the answer begins in the same place. Fix your eyes on Him. Look full in His wonderful face. Consider Jesus.
