Trusting God's Plan | What to Do While God is at Work

Trusting God’s plan can feel challenging, especially when it seems unclear or and things are practically uncertain. When you look at the life of Abraham in The Bible, we see an example of unwavering faith and obedience that teaches us how to trust God's plan, even when it doesn’t make sense. In this sermon, Pastor Tyler teaches how Abraham's journey challenges us to trust God's plan for our lives and brings to light what kind of impact this kind of trust can have on our spiritual growth. Here are a few truths to guide your faith.

1. God's plan is to lead you.

When God called Abraham to leave his home and go to an unknown land, Abraham didn’t hesitate. He obeyed, despite not knowing the specifics of where he was going or how his life would unfold. Trusting God's plan means stepping out in faith, just like Abraham did. When God asks us to move or make a change, we might not always understand the purpose, but trust in God’s plan requires us to obey fully, even when the future is uncertain.

Ask yourself, is there an area of my life where I’m struggling to follow God's leadership? Whether it's in relationships, career choices, or personal habits, trust God's plan by taking the step of obedience, even if you can't see the whole picture.

2. God's plan requires follow through.

Abraham’s journey wasn't smooth or without struggle. In fact, it involved waiting on God's promises for many years, even when the situation seemed impossible (God's promise of descendants when Abraham and Sarah were old). But through it all, Abraham had to surrender control and trust God's timing and plan. When we try to control every aspect of our lives, we block God's ability to work. True trust comes from letting go of our need to control and trusting that God’s plan is better than anything we could engineer on our own

Take time to reflect on areas where you’re holding onto control. Am I letting God lead, or am I trying to fix things myself? Practice surrendering control and allowing God’s perfect plan to unfold.

3. God's plan includes blessings.

In the end, Abraham’s faith and obedience didn’t just lead to personal blessing; it set the stage for a legacy that would bless nations. By trusting God’s plan, Abraham became the father of many nations, and his story serves as an example for generations. The same is true for us: trusting God’s plan opens up the potential for blessings and purposes far beyond what we can fathom in the moment. Even when we can’t see how things will work out, trust that God has a good purpose and plan for your life.

Think about the bigger picture of your life: How might your obedience to God’s plan impact not only your life but the lives of those around you? Trusting God’s plan can extend blessings to your family, friends, and even future generations.

Trusting God’s plan isn’t always easy, but it’s always worth it.

Abraham’s story is a powerful reminder that when we step out in faith, obey God's call, and surrender our need for control, we can experience the blessings of a life fully aligned with God’s purpose. Let Abraham's example inspire you to trust God’s plan for your life, knowing that He has something far greater in store than we can imagine.
