Get Ready or Stay Ready | The Return of Jesus Christ

The reality that there is an “end of the world” can feel like a tunnel of darkness or a beacon of hope. The reality that Jesus will return gives us an eager hope and anticipation. So what do you do until then?

  1. Develop a relationship with Christ. The anticipation of Jesus’ return should encourage us to get to know Him so we can recognize Him. How? Take time daily to pray, study His word, and spend time with Him. Make space in your life for spiritual disciplines that bring your life purpose and fulfillment that culture will always leave void.
  2. Live tomorrow, today. It’s important to reframe your thoughts to live with a kingdom mindset. This means aligning your thoughts, words, and actions with the values of Jesus’ teachings. When you prioritize His way, He puts you in right standing (righteous) in everything you do.
  3. Tell someone. The fact that Christ will return and that heaven is an eternal promise for those who believe in Him, challenges us to share that good news! Pray for the courage to invite others to church or to small group. Pray that you would have the boldness to share how your life has been changed because of Jesus, and to tell about the hope you have in Christ. Let your story be a testimony to the transformative power of Christ’s love.

The idea that Jesus will return is more than just an idea, it’s a reality. It’s one filled with hope and promise. As you take steps to grow in your relationship with Christ, you’ll develop the confident boldness to stay kingdom minded and share with others about the goodness and hope that Jesus brings.
